Volunteer Opportunities

Home Management Resources was founded and remains a ‘grass roots’ organization. This is by design. Our primary task of strengthening families through practical and relational education is best accomplished through the efforts of community members who have experienced positive changes in their own families and value working side-by-side with others who want to improve their family life.

We have found that volunteers can be of most help and find the most meaning as they join targeted programs and committees focused on specific tasks. Pick an area that fits your interest and experience:

1) Program Development Committee:

  • Edits and updates curriculum of the Family Life Seminar.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of curriculum and classes.
  • Contacts churches and businesses to encourage involvement.

2) Resource Development Committee:

  • Events: Plan the 25th Anniversary Celebration in September.
  • Create fundraising events.
  • Organizes the donor management process.
  • Grants: researches and applies for grant funding.

3) Marketing/Public Relations Committee:

  • Develops marketing strategy for HMR with focus on 25th anniversary.
  • Coordinates targeted media coverage.
  • Enhances HMR’s website and social media presence.

4) Volunteer Recruitment/Appreciation Committee

  • Designs the recruitment, tracking and care of volunteers
  • Plans Volunteer Appreciation Opportunities

5) Office and Classroom Operations Committee

  • Assists with mailings, assembling manuals, delivering materials
  • Provides snacks for class sessions
