Biography

Gwenyth M. DeLee
Founder

Home Management Resources is served by Gwenyth M. DeLee who founded and developed the ground breaking program that is a model for communities nationwide. From 1982 to 1985, Gwen headed a team, which researched various ways of actively helping disadvantaged families. It was decided that the most direct route to the family was through the mother, who is the gateway to the home. The idea was simple; instruction and personal assistance. The purpose was to enable people to handle their lives with dignity, to end the isolation and loneliness poverty can cause, and to extend support and encouragement in whatever way was needed to permit a woman to grow toward her potential. Since the inception of the program in 1986 hundreds of people have benefited from the services offered. Hope is being restored. Families are gaining a sense of purpose and harmony where chaos and discord once reigned.

Gwen presently oversees the staff of four paid employees and over 70 volunteer counselors who are the backbone of the organization. She sits on the board of directors as the chief executive officer and is responsible for the day to day operations of all financial, administrative and operational aspects of the organization. Gwen works full time, but has chosen to donate her salary to the organization.
