Generous Community Support Helps HMR Expand Programming
Granger Sunrise
Rotary Club awarded
Home Management Resources $500 to purchase an electronic binder to
create workbooks and instructor manuals for our classes. By doing
this "in-house" we will save more than $2,500 a year
in printing costs. Thank you, Rotarians!
St. Mary’s
WILCO (Women in Leadership in Community Organizations) has
awarded Home Management Resources $5,000 for a year-long project in
which Home Management Resources will develop our Family Life Seminar
into a distance learning program. We envision putting our basic life
skills program out to the country through information technology.
WILCO will provide opportunities to research our project, network
with other leaders in the community, and consult with a mentor in
the distance learning field. This should be an exciting year!
Prevent Child
Abuse has generously granted $5,000 to fund Home Management
Resources’ evening Positive Parenting Seminar. The grant will also
provide funding for a child care staff. Currently, this class is only
offered in the daytime. This new evening program will enable all parents
to take advantage of the valuable parenting information offered in
the seminar. We are very thankful for this grant, as it will enable
Home Management Resources to teach families the Parenting skills needed
to develop strong, healthy family relationships.
South Bend
Junior League has awarded $992.30 toward the purchase of an
overhead projector, TV-VCR and Polaroid Camera. The projector and
TV-VCR will enable Home Management Resources to include a visual component
in the classroom. The Polaroid Camera will capture landmark moments
that can instantly be presented to a graduating student of a Home
Management Resources class. We appreciate the continued support from
Junior Leaguers!
State Farm
Insurance Companies. Local State Farm Insurance agent, Tim
Grauel and Richard S. Gates, Agency Field Executive, presented Home
Management Resources with an unrestricted grant of $5,000. This award
will help further our mission within the community.
Upcoming
Fundraiser
Our newest
fundraiser on the planning board is a joint auction with the YMCA.
Home Management Resources and the YMCA will share the proceeds from
this event.
You can
help make this auction a success! We need valuable items or services
to be donated for auction. Call our offices to make such a donation.
Mark your
calendar now to attend this entertaining silent and live auction on
August 16, 2003. More details will be sent at a later date.
Home Management
Resources is very grateful for the support we have received from organizations
throughout our community, however, we still need your
help to continue our mission of serving families. Please join with
us in this exceptional task by using the enclosed envelope to make
a tax deductible contribution to our mission of making ‘strong
families for a strong community’.
